Apologies if you’ve already  seen this post, I was merely trying to edit the font and the WordPress gremlins had a field day ! There is another that simply disappeared called a ‘a kiss blown’, I’ve re-posted that one too.

Inspired by Baudalaire’s  ‘Le Voyage’ and it’s line “ O Mort, vieux capitaine, il est temps, levons l’ancre”

The Fisherman

Return me to where the sea and sky meet,

where I’ll await that last sunset,

and with cheery wave the Fisherman greet,

with his boat of souls and net.

Such as I belong to these cold waters vast,

we who Neptune has kissed,

so weep not for me when the net is cast,

and I sail towards the mist
