A SINGLE PILLOW – written & spoken

A Single pillow

I never realised how sad it was going to be

when she could no longer sleep with me

until our double bed with single pillow I saw

through the gap between frame and door

and on the side my picture wrapped in wood

looking as if I’ve already gone for good

Sometimes when there is nobody here

I lie on that bed and pretend she’s near

and though it’s day time and full of light

I shed a tear and whisper to her ‘g’night’.

  1. One of the tear jerkers you mentioned? I’d say so because mine flowed pretty freely. You have this amazing ability to pull out so many emotions with your writing, like nothing I’ve ever read before. This is heartbreaking yet beautiful in its depth of love.

      1. You’re welcome. Now you’ve made me smile! You are so incredibly awesome.
A Les Paul? Nice! I tried to teach myself guitar once. This poet’s room sounds divine. Kind of luck a man cave but way better and with much more class.
