ALL HALLOWS EVE
Set the table bright and well my dears,
for those we hope this night will come
and as the veil between so slowly clears,
sing their songs with fife and drum.
Leave the doors and windows ajar
for the ones who pass this way.
They’ve travelled here from afar
and must return before the day.
Let lantern light the wild rose briar
and it’s glow the lost ones invite
to feast and drink around the fire
together again til end of night.
Love all of this, Nige ! Perfect image, music and write. Halloween’s always been a favorite, no wonder really.

Thank you, I love the happy/party angle on this which of course is a complete opposite to the usual .

Brilliant Poetry Nigel. I have been reading lots of poems on Halloween for the Radio slot yesterday and this was better than most.
