ANNIVERSARY POEM by Jo-ann Smith

It’s my 26th wedding anniversary today, and I woke to a most wonderful surprise. You see  Jo says she doesn’t get poetry. She certainly doesn’t read or discuss it. And yet despite, this I was gifted the following verse just now, and I had to share it with you my friends. I think it is beautiful and truly inspired. This is the first poem Jo has ever written, I hope you enjoy.

Anniversary Poem

The sun seemed low over the church roof

allowing only a glimmer of light,

casting shadows,

that those around made up games with,

pointing out shapes.

Two stood apart watching,

two stood apart holding hands,

two stood apart in the shadows,

the shape of the two was a heart,

the shape of the two was love.

  1. A very Happy Wedding Anniversary to the two of you. You sound lovely and the photo is beautiful.

Now to you Jo-Ann Smith. Your poem is wonderful you just observed and wrote it down in a poetic form . What better present could you give.
    This is great:
    ” Two stood apart watching,

    two stood apart holding hands,

two stood apart in the shadows,

the shape of the two was a heart,

the shape of the two was love. ”

Hugs to the two of you spreading sunshine today
    Miriam
